President Trump has ordered the Army Corps of Engineers to prepare for wall construction and he will start with land already owned by the Department of Defense.
This will avoid having to purchase land from private ranchers, some of whom do not want to sell, using eminent domain.
He will pull the money needed from the Army Corps of Engineers approved and unspent budget – he may or he may not need to declare a national emergency to do this.
In other words, Trump is winning. The simple reason: because he is right. Walls work – we don’t need them everywhere but where they are needed they are invaluable.
Jim Acosta, however, still has his head in the sand and tried to pull a cheap political stunt today only to see it end badly for the CNN reporter.
Enter Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who piled on and wiped the arrogant smirk right off his face.
“When I went with President
@realDonaldTrump to the border today I never imagined @Acosta would be there doing our job for us and so clearly explaining why WALLS WORK. Thanks Jim!”
I found some steel slats down on the border. But I don’t see anything resembling a national emergency situation.. at least not in the McAllen TX area of the border where Trump will be today. pic.twitter.com/KRoLdszLUu
